Special Purpose Funds

At various times, our donors wish to specifically designate their gifts to honor a loved one, pay tribute to a healthcare provider or simply further improve the healthcare delivered in northern Michigan. To that end, the Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation accepts gifts of any size, designated to the following purposes:
Acute Rehabilitation– To provide equipment and/or general needs of the unit.
Building Fund – To assist the Hospital in renovating or expanding the facility.
C.A.R.E. Fund – To assist Colleagues of Hospital system in times of crisis, illness or catastrophe, etc.
Chaplaincy – To assist the chaplain’s office by providing funding for educational conferences or patient education materials.
Community Free Clinic – To assist with operational expenses and support of the Free Clinic.
Diabetic Foot Care – To assist patients needing specialized foot care.
Dialysis – To assist in the care and education of dialysis patients and their families and to provide medical equipment for the Dialysis unit.
Education – To provide nursing scholarships or continuing education opportunities for Colleagues of the Hospital system.
Endoscopy – To provide funding for state-of-the-art equipment and technology needs for endoscopy services.
Health Education Fund – To be used for public and patient health education materials, classes, lectures, and outreach through the Community Health Education Center.
Heart Care/Cardiology – To provide state-of-the-art equipment and technology that assists in the treatment of cardiac patients.
Hospitality House – To assist in the program costs and food pantry of the Benjamin B. Blum Hospitality House.
ICU Fund – To provide educational opportunities and material for the ICU staff and provide equipment for this unit.
IV Smart Pumps – To provide funding for the replacement of 223 IV pumps throughout the Hospital.
Library Fund – To supply the Dean C. Burns Medical Library with books, materials, and technology.
Mental Health – To provide programs, equipment or technology for the mental health unit and its patients.
Neonatal – To provide equipment and/or general needs of the Neonatal Department.
Neurosurgery – To provide state-of-the-art equipment and technology for neurosurgery patients.
Nursing Gratitude – To show appreciation for nursing care.
Oncology – To provide state-of-the-art equipment and technological needs for cancer services.
Orthopaedics – To provide state-of-the-art equipment and technology for orthopaedic patients.
Patient Assistance – To provide support for patients with transportation, medications, mammograms, minor medical equipment, and the like.
Pediatrics – To provide equipment and/or general needs of the Pediatric Unit.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation –To provide equipment and/or general needs for the pulmonary rehabilitation unit.
Surgery – To provide state-of-the-art equipment for surgical services.
Unrestricted – To support areas of greatest need.
Wellness Pavilion for Outpatient Services – To assist with building a new Wellness Pavilion for Outpatient Services on the Lockwood MacDonald campus. The new facility would include dialysis unit, occupational, pediatric, cardiac, physical, pulmonary, and speech/language services.
Other Funds – The Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation has additional funding opportunities available.
